Job Description:
Lead the development and execution of QA test plans to support QA FOA project cycles. Identify and drive resolution of system level issues. Develop and manage QA test environments and tools toward continuous improvement of QA processes.
Responsibilities:
- Development of formal test plans, formal test case design, formal testing of the system and comprising subsystems
- Implement test architectures, execute tests, identify, diagnose, troubleshoot and drive resolution of issues. Represent QA and articulate technical issues verbally with other organizations and through development of formal test reports
- Design and develop test tools and scripts from scratch and using off the shelf tools
- Design and develop test automation environments and tools.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years experience of telecommunications in a test environment
- 5-7+ years of experience in a QA or lab/test organization
- Good understanding of mobile telecommunications, with specific detailed experience with 2G and 3G mobile telecoms networking.
- Good understanding of and experience with IP protocols and VoIP systems and protocols, including signaling and media gateway protocols, routing, and tunneling principles.
- Strong background in delivering “Carrier Grade” products to the customer
- Experience developing, implementing, executing, and documenting formal test plans, test cases, and test architectures.
- Proven track record of developing test tools and platforms
- Significant experience with using and developing test scripts for several off the shelf Test Tools, e.g K1205 and MGTS; experience developing test tools and scripts from scratch (ie TCL, Perl, C) highly desirable
- Experience designing and implementing test automation environments
- Proficiency using Linux and/or Unix operating systems.
- Highly organized to handle large number of simultaneous activities in a fast paced environment, while prioritizing and responding quickly to critical issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong communicator who is skilled in articulating technical issues, developing and representing QA positions to other internal organizations
- Technical leader with a systems approach who can apply experience and analytical skills to understand, debug and predict issues and develop innovative solutions to problems.
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (i.e., Computer Science, Engineering). Advanced degree in a technical field desired.
