CHECK POINT AND KINETO WIRELESS COMPLETE INTEROPERABILITY TESTING

Redwood City and Milpitas, Calif.
February 12, 2007

Companies Qualify Check Point VPN-1 MASS Security Gateway for Use Within Kineto UMA
Network Controller

Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, and
Kineto Wireless, Inc., the key innovator and leading supplier of Universal Mobile Access (UMA) technology, today
announced the companies have completed interoperability testing between Kineto’s UMA Network Controller
(UNC) and Check Point’s VPN-1 MASS high capacity security gateway.

As a result of this testing, operators can now select the Check Point security gateway as part of a Kineto UMA
Network Controller to support the growing number of UMA deployments worldwide.

“UMA is the technology which operators are using to deliver fixed-mobile convergence services,” said Dave
Burton, director of product marketing, Check Point Software Technologies. “Check Point’s security solution
meets the requirements for delivering mobile services over the public internet, is fully compatible with the Kineto
UMA network controller, and provides operators a new choice in UMA security gateways.”

UMA technology enables mobile and integrated operators to extend mobile voice, data and IMS services over the
public internet. Check Point’s VPN-1 MASS solution provides secure access to the IP core of telecom networks
and delivers advanced firewall inspection technologies for the communication protocols such as UMA signaling.
“The Check Point security solution performed well in interoperability testing with Kineto’s UNC,” said Tom Elam,
vice president of products for Kineto. “Scalability, reliability and interoperability for UMA security elements are
vital to the success of operators’ UMA services, and Check Point delivered.”

About UMA Technology
Universal Mobile Access (UMA) technology is the 3GPP global standard for fixed/mobile convergence. UMA
enables secure, scalable access to mobile voice, data and IMS services over broadband IP access networks. By
deploying UMA technology, mobile operators can deliver a number of compelling fixed-mobile convergence
services. The most well known application of UMA technology is dual-mode cellular/Wi-Fi handsets, which enable
subscribers to automatically roam and handover between cellular networks and public and private WLANs.
Leading operators around the world have embraced UMA technology as part of a fixed-mobile convergence
strategy, including Telecom Italia, France Telecom/Orange and TeliaSonera. For more information, please
